中秋快乐 Happy Mid Autumn Festival

Mid Autumn Festival 2015 D

This week all of the children have been learning about the Mid Autumn festival 中秋节 (zhōngqiūjié)。This is the second most important (traditional) Chinese Festival after Chinese New Year.

We have been learning about the legend of the archer Hou Yi and his wife Chang er. The children can all retell this legend. Everyone made some really great Mid Autumn themed crafts. We also learned how to write the character for moon 月 (Yuè). Have a practice at home!

Wish your friends and families a ”Happy Mid Autumn Festival”  (中秋快乐).

 

On Friday the Chinese Choir will be going to perform at The Arcadian in Birmingham as part of the Mid Autumn Festival celebrations. Come and join us!
