We had a fun day today! We tried some haw flakes (山楂片shan zha pian)–a type of fruit-based confection that is a popular treat in China. The thin, round candies are made from the berries produced by the hawthorn tree. The product itself has a sweet, slightly tart taste and is available at many Chinese shops in the UK. Some of us like it, some don’t.
Our teacher told us that we had developed very good pinyin reading skills and we are good at using google translate, so actually we can learn any new words or simple sentences individually. She also encouraged us to carry on with Chinese learning, three year’s formal Chinese learning provide a solid foundation for us to do so, we are lucky and not every primary school provide students with such language learning opportunity.Robin Hood Academy, we all love you!
We also revise key texts we had learnt this year, some talented classmates gave us mini presentation, some even gave us a dance. It is really fun day today.
